With parts dating back to the 16th century this former coaching inn has a lot of stories, the main one being of a highway man whom after murdering a young servant girl here was later executed in the stables. Some say the clunking sound of the girl’s body being dragged down the stairs can still be heard to this day along with sounds of heavy breathing and crying. Images of a man have been seen and people have been grabbed by unseen hands.
