a very interesting night

Closeburn Castle, a first for us and did not disappoint! We investigated as one group this time, starting at the top of the castle and working our way down, finishing the night in the dungeon. We had some great on and off activity throughout the night with responses across various pieces of equipment and very noticeable changes in atmosphere and temperature and customer brought a parascope with them and it proved to be fantastic piece of kit. Interestingly, in every room we entered we seemed to be met with a small burst of activity, as though the spirits were checking out the equipment and then rushing out of the room. We started in the lounge on the top floor, and immediately had responses on the parascope as if a spirit had walked through the room and left, before repeating shortly afterwards but little to no responses to questions which led us to believe it was predominantly residual energy. Cold spots were also felt throughout the room, mostly around knee height which suggested to us there could have been an animal spirit, and Micky had the sensation of something touching him on the head. After this we went into the master bedroom and again were met with responses on the parascope as if a spirit was checking out the equipment and rushing out of the room, accompanied by temperature drops on the sb-7. We had some great responses on the talking evp apps and a customer started to feel as though they were being pushed, which led us to a fantastic human pendulum. Through the human pendulum we found we were talking to Bruce and his friend, who claimed to have helped in the construction of the castle between sometime between 1100 AD and 1200 AD. Bruce communicated that he could hear us but not see us, and felt that we were the ghosts. Some of his answers were becoming rather cheeky and once we stopped the pendulum we went on to catch a groaning sound on EVP and either Bruce or his friend continued to touch customers, with them having a strong sensation of someone placing a hand on their shoulders and playing with their hair. We didnt get much on the spirit box in this room, just an odd word or two that we couldnt decipher, but we did hear twinkling music which led us to investigate the twin bedroom on the floor below as we knew there was a music box in there. On entering this room, again the equipment appeared to show us that a spirit was quickly rushing out of the room to avoid us. We started to receive responses from a child spirit across different talking EVP apps and the K2 doll, who did not want to tell us their name, but mentioned the names Christopher (who we were led to believe was the spirits poorly brother who had shared the room) and Eleanor (who seemed to be the spirits grandmother). Sadly, this spirit also seemed to be greatly scared of a blacksmith who appeared to continue to scare and intimidate them in spirit form. After near constant communication from this spirit it stopped abruptly and it became clear to us that the spirit they were scared of had entered the room. Immediately the atmosphere of the room changed, with some of us feeling nauseous and panicky and some feeling angry and agitated. It seemed the be the women of the group that were most affected by this sudden change, with us all commenting at the same time that we had felt something had shifted. Personally, I very suddenly started to feel sick and anxious as though something was pushing on my chest and arms while my face was absolutely burning which lasted for a good while before it was pointed out by the group that the light on the parascope had stopped on me as though the spirit was staring me down, before then slowly moving around the group and stopping infront of a few of the other female customers and causing each of us to have a different emotional reaction. The responses on the equipment at this time started to show that the spirit was angry and frustrated that he wasnt able to intimidate us and threatened that he would be back to get us before promptly disappearing. After a break, we then headed down into the dungeon where once again the equipment seemed to show something rushing out of the room. We began to get answers from what we believed to be two spirits, with the names Thomas and Kate coming up, before the communication seemed to shift to be solidly from Thomas. We tried glass work, but with very little movement. Customers commented that it felt as though something was stopping the glass from moving and holding it in place, which led us to try table tipping but with no results. Micky then used dice to some great success with names and responses we had been getting previously showing up in the letters. As this experiment was being done a customers torch began to inexplicably dim and brighten, even though the batteries should have been fine which led to some good responses when we asked the spirits to dim it in response to questions. We didnt hear back from our angry spirit before it was time to leave, but all in all a very interesting night in a lovely venue. Thanks once again to Closeburn Castle for having us. - Jasmine 👻
