The Staincliffe Hotel, Hartlepool, 10th February 2023 Group 1 - We started the evening on the ground floor, working our way from the sports bar along to the chapel and into the ballroom. Throughout each room we experienced the same interactions, through intelligent taps and knocks. Upstairs in the attic we experienced a dark oppressive feeling and what appeared to be someone standing behind people ominously, this came alongside some unexplained shadows on the walls. Upon returning to the downstairs bar area we appeared to be communicating with 2 spirits, one that wanted to talk and another that wanted to stop them. Group 2 - We started in the ballroom where I thought I heard footsteps on the flat roof and young female voices, other people in the group only heard the voices which were caught on evp but very faint, a couple of group members also witnessed shadows and felt something was in one corner of the room. We then went upstairs to room 18 and the attic area which was very quiet with little happened. After the break we set up in the Chapel and had some interesting responses especially with the human pendulum where one woman was swaying back and forwards, and going round in circles. After leaving the circle she had no recollection of her experience. Back in the Chapel somebody noticed one flag hanging from the ceiling was moving. We checked all doors to toilets and exits for draughts but none could be found. Asking for other flags to be moved, they did so on command which seemed to eliminate the theory of draughts. We joined up with the other group to end the night in the lounge and sports bar. The same lady who had taken part in the human pendulum in the Chapel tried a yes/no session with a crystal pendulum which was moving straight away. All in all a very good night.
